GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania (March 8, 2018) – The Westmoreland Museum of American Art will cap off its inaugural Great American Music Series with two concerts this spring: Beauty Slap on March 21 and Anqwenique & The Ensemble on May 16, each held at the Museum from 6:30-9pm.
“With the Great American Music Series, we’re celebrating a variety of musical styles and supporting local artists,” Deputy Director/Director of Advancement Catena Bergevin said. “We’re looking forward to having folks come out to hear Beauty Slap and Anqwenique & The Ensemble while enjoying our casual setting surrounded by great art.”
Beauty Slap describes itself as “Pittsburgh’s party-brass-thunder-funk machine.” With four horns, keys and a computer, the sounds of a traditional brass quartet meet the heaviest grooves modern dance has to offer.
Anqwenique Wingfield is a versatile vocalist and teaching artist specializing in opera, classical music, jazz and soul. She is also the founder of Groove Aesthetic, a Pittsburgh-based multidisciplinary artist collective.
Tickets for each concert are $20 for members, $25 for non-members and $10 for students with ID.
